The atmosphere of wine roads is most appealing in the late summer and autumn during grapes harvesting. Already in the late summer the hills start to breathe out the scent of ripe grapes, thus creating a pleasant fragrance in the air. This is the period of the year when diligent grape-picking crews, often composed of a number of families and friends, make their vineyards vibrant by picking the fruits of their year-long labour and care into baskets and lugs, later transported mainly by tractors to wineries and cellars in which must is transformed into wine.
